Okay, so i have my ears already pierced once. I want to get them once again, and then my cartilage also. I am 16 so will I need a parent with me to get either of these done? I will be going to Claire's. :] Thank you to all the answers. Will I need a parent present to pierce my ears a 2nd time or cartilage?
Yes.
You have to be 18 or older to get any piercing done without a parent consent, regardless if you already have one.
To the people below me:
I respect their opinions, but I got my cartilage done there, and I had no problems what so ever with it. I don't think a needle is necessary instead of the gun, because the gun is used so that the earring will have enough force to pierce through WITHOUT causing any damage. I know people who have pierced their ears, cartilages, monroes, navels, and lips by themselves, which isn't the safest thing to do, but they haven't had any problems with it. Also, if Claire's had shattered cartilages in the past by using the gun, then I don't think they would be allowed to continue using the gun. That's just my opinion that Claire's is fine for those piercings, but do what you feel is right. Will I need a parent present to pierce my ears a 2nd time or cartilage?
Okay, i got my ear pierced at Claire's and since you need to be 13 to get cartilage you can get that but, you need to be 18 to get your ears pierced without an adult with you. However, you should not get your ears pierced at Claire's, because they use guns instead of needles and I just learned after I got my ear pierced, that guns can tear your skin even if it is in the earlobe. and for cartilage, a needle is what you should use since the gun can SHATTER you cartilage. I hope this helps!
do not go to Clair's to get your cartilage pierced. i don't think they even aloud to do that anymore. go to a professional piercer to get it done, someplace that doesn't use a gun because it will damage your cartilage. where i live you only have to be 16 to get pierced with out a parent or parental consent.
Yes, you have to be 18 to do it alone. Otherwise you need a parent with you. I went to Claire's and they won't do it without a parent.
